Mayweather ‘perfectly fine’ after ‘angry mob’ attack in London

MAYWEATHER ‘PERFECTLY FINE’ AFTER CROWD ATTACK AT LONDON’S JEWELRY DISTRICT
Mayweather was “perfectly fine” after he and his entourage were attacked by a crowd at London’s jewelry district.
Furthermore, the American undefeated boxer insisted that none of the crowd managed to get contact with him during the incident.
Moreover, Mayweather (50-0, 27 KOs) allayed fears of his supporters by posting a statement on social media hours after the incident.
“I’m perfectly fine, and there’s really nothing more to it. I wasn’t punched or touched in any way,” Mayweather wrote on Instagram.
“Let me set the record straight… there’s no truth to the rumors going around. What you’re seeing is just my security men doing their job to keep things under control,” he added.
WITNESSES SAY FLOYD ATTACKED FOR ISRAEL SUPPORT
Furthermore, witnesses say Mayweather was attacked.
Moreover, he responded to an interview question regarding his support for Israel.
However, a source told Britain’s The Sun newspaper that the boxer also known as “Money” replied by saying he was “proud to support the Jews.”
Additionally, that prompted someone to attempt to hit him and the others got involved in the commotion.
The 47-year-old retired boxing legend narrated that he was in the United Kingdom “for a quick 48-hour stop to do some shopping.”
“Unfortunately, people let jealousy and negativity fuel false stories,” Mayweather said.
SECURITY TEAM FORCED TO ESCORT MAYWEATHER AWAY FROM HATTON GARDEN
Furthermore, a security team was forced to escort Mayweather away from London’s Hatton Garden as a result of the incident.
Moreover, a source close to Mayweather told The Sun that as many as 10 people tried to go after the retired boxer.
Some 20 other people were seen looking on at the incident, the source added.
“Mayweather’s security team were outnumbered. Some said that Mayweather had been shopping when he was asked why he supported Israel,” the source said.
“Then someone took a swing at him because of that. It looked very targeted,” he added.
The incident came after the retired boxer launched his “Mayweather Israel Initiative,” which seeks to provide every Israel orphan a free birthday present.
