Jake Paul sees Joshua’s fight as a ticket to world title offers
Paul is aware of the high stakes for him in challenging a heavyweight champion like Joshua.
Also known as “The Problem Child,” Paul is determined to beat a stronger and heavier Joshua to contend for a world title.
“When I beat Anthony Joshua, every doubt disappears, and no one can deny me the opportunity to fight for a world title,” Paul said.
“To all my haters, this is what you wanted. To the people of the United Kingdom, I am sorry,” he added.
Truly, Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) is marketing this fight as “Judgment Day.”

Joshua says fighting Paul is ‘a big opportunity’ despite previously involved in world title fights
Joshua is no stranger to headline world title fights in his career.
The British fighter is coming off a knockout loss against Daniel Dubois on September 21,2024, and needs payback.
He is determined that his comeback against Paul will not go to waste in Miami.
“I took some time out, and I’m coming back with a mega show. It’s a big opportunity for me,” Joshua said.
“I’m here to do massive numbers, have big fights and break every record whilst keeping cool, calm, and collected,” he added.

Paul vs Joshua reported fight purse adds up to the hype
Fans expected Paul and Joshua’s earnings to increase for their upcoming fight.
Paul further stoked the hype with a tweet on November 17, 2025, in which he mentioned “USD267 million.”
The YouTuber didn’t confirm what the number stood for, but it sparked wild speculation among fans.
This could corroborate the USD184 million fight purse reported by Daily Mail on November 13, 2025.
Both fighters are seeking to take home a reported USD92 million, win or lose, in the fight.
Jake Paul’s family not keen on the YouTuber fighting Joshua
Jake Paul’s family, just like his critics, is not too keen on him taking on Joshua.
His brother, Logan Paul, questioned the logic of facing a stronger and heavier fighter.
“When you called out Anthony Joshua… were you on cocaine? Why did you do that?” Logan Paul told his brother.
“No! Ohh, no. Are you crazy?” Jake Paul’s mother then asked him.
“The heavyweight? (Joshua) No way, dude. Are you for real?” Paul’s father added.

Ryan Garcia thinks Joshua loss to Dubois inspired Paul
American boxer Ryan Garcia believes Paul was inspired by DuBois’ win over Joshua.
The former WBC interim lightweight champion in 2021 recalled how DuBois used his right hand to knock out Joshua, something Paul can imitate.
“I think (Paul has) seen (Daniel) DuBois) drop him with the right hand, and say, ‘Oh, I can do that. That’s my shot,” Garcia told Max Kellerman on November 17, 2025.
Incidentally, Garcia was one of several marquee names – the others being Terence Crawford and Francis Ngannou – to fight Paul after Davis withdrew.
However, Garcia had to decline, as he is under contract with DAZN and thus with Oscar de la Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions.
Ringside physicians’ head allays fears in Paul vs Joshua fight
The height and weight difference has some quarters concerned about Paul’s safety in his upcoming fight.
However, a ringside physician officially allayed those fears, saying that the pairing would not be a total mismatch.
Louis Durkin, president of the Association of Ringside Physicians, says fans should not discount Paul’s skills, which could make for a “good match” in Miami.
“But if you look at the individual fighters, I don’t think it rises to the level of safety concern,” said Durkin, also the chairman of Emergency Medicine at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield.
“Now, whether (Paul) deserves a shot at Joshua is a different question,” he added.

Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua: In retrospect
Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua may be a total mismatch between a cruiserweight and a traditional heavyweight.
However, the Paul vs. Joshua fight brings novelty, intrigue, and mystery about what could happen in Miami.
Joshua has the track record and the experience to look like the favorite, but there’s always a “punching chance” for a guy like Paul.
Boxing is entertainment, and Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua has the potential to spark fireworks that could last the distance.
Overall, fans, analysts, and critics may just have to wait and see until fight night to get their answers.
