INOUE’S CAREER ‘MORE LEGENDARY’ THAN PACQUIAO DUE TO UNDEFEATED RECORD

Inoue’s career is “more legendary,” Arum said, since the Japanese fighter won multiple belts with an undefeated record (28-0, 25 KOs).

Furthermore, the Top Rank promoter called Inoue a “disciplined fighter” after he earned undisputed champion in two weight divisions.

Moreover, Arum said the Japanese fighter known as “Monster” achieved this without losing a fight.

While the promoter described Hall of Famer Pacquiao as a “great champion,” he noted that Inoue might be slightly ahead.

“Boxers are unique. Manny (Pacquiao) was a great, great champion, was great for boxing. His career is legendary,” Arum told Sky Sports.

“Naoya Inoue’s career is even more legendary because unlike Manny, he has gone through one division after another without losing a fight,” he added.

PACQUIAO A ‘RECKLESS’ FIGHTER THAT COST HIM KO LOSS TO MARQUEZ, SAYS ARUM

Pacquiao was a “reckless” fighter, Arum said, that led him to a knockout loss against Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez.

Moreover, the Top Rank executive described the retired eight-division champion as always on attack mode against the Mexican champion.

However, Marquez decked him out in the sixth round of their fight on December 8, 2012.

“Manny was reckless in a lot of fights and that’s why he got knocked out in the last fight that he had with (Juan Manuel) Marquez,” Arum said.

“Because he went in on the attack and didn’t look out for an answering punch,” he added.

Arum was Pacquiao’s promoter under Top Rank from 2005 to 2017, while he currently serves as Inoue’s co-promoter.

‘MONSTER’ BELIEVES POSTPONEMENT, CHANGE OF CHALLENGER ‘HELPFUL’ FOR FUTURE FIGHTS

Furthermore, the “Monster” believes that the postponement and change of fighter will be “helpful” for him for future fights.

Moreover, Inoue is preparing for his upcoming title defense against South Korean Kim Ye-joon.

Kim was a replacement fighter for injured Australian Sam Goodman.

Inoue stakes his undisputed super bantamweight titles against Kim at Ariake Arena in Tokyo on Friday.

“As I changed my schedule, I felt that taking this long to prepare my body was a big plus,” Inoue said at a news conference on Wednesday.

“I think it will be best to make these kinds of adjustments before big matches in the future. So I think the two postponements and the one-month delay were helpful,” he added.
