INOUE ‘VERY PLEASED’ TO CAP ‘LEGENDARY DAY FOR BOXING’ AT CINCO DE MAYO WEEKEND

Inoue is “very pleased’ to cap a “legendary day for boxing” when he is headlined at Cinco de Mayo weekend next month.

Furthermore, the 32-year-old unbeaten undisputed champion graced his media workout at the Westside Boxing Gym on Wednesday.

Moreover, he’s looking forward to his upcoming fight against Ramon Cardenas.

“I don’t know if I’ll make it back to No. 1 with this (Cardenas) fight, but with September, December and next year,” Inoue said.

“I know it is a legendary day for boxing, and I’m very pleased I’m in the main event,” he added.

‘THE MONSTER’ SHARES REASON WHY HE CHALLENGED NAKATANI FOR 2026 MEGA-FIGHT

Inoue shared the reason why he challenged Junto Nakatani for a potential 2026 mega-fight.

Furthermore, the 32-year-old unbeaten undisputed champion approached his compatriot at the Japanese Boxing Awards on March 31.

Moreover, Nakatani accepted Inoue’s offer, sparking excited among boxing circles worldwide.

Inoue addressed the matter after he was asked by FightsATW’s Abraham Gonzalez about it.

The fighter also known as “The Monster” then asked the question back to reporters.

He aked them if they wanted such fight to happen.

After the journalists said “yes,” Inoue responded with “that’s why” through an interpreter.

Top Rank executive Todd DuBoef defended Inoue’s past and upcoming opponents, saying that it’s not the fighter’s fault if original picks back out.

Furthermore, Inoue’s American promoter cited Mexican Alan David Picasso, who was supposed to face “The Monster” on May 4 but he backed out.

Moreover, DuBoef described Inoue as an “active champion.”

“He’s the most active champion, averaging more than three fights a year,” the Top Rank official said.

“Tell me anyone on the pound-for-pound list that’s matching that?” he asked.
