HEARN BACKS ALALSHIK’S PLAN TO STAGE CRAWFORD VS ENNIS MEGA-FIGHT

Furthermore, Matchroom promoter Hearn backs the plan of Alalshikh to stage a Crawford vs Ennis mega-fight after the latter’s well-attended recent fight in Pennsylvania.

Moreover, At least 14,000 fans showed up at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia to witness Ennis (32-0, 29 KOs) score a fifth-round knockout win over David Avanesyan (30-5-1, 18 KOs) on Saturday.

“He (Alalshikh) wants to make the biggest fights. He watched tonight and saw one of the biggest crowds in America this year,” Hearn said after the fight.

“Over 14,000 were in here tonight. It was incredible,” he added.

Additionally, Hearn described a possible Crawford-Ennis bout as a “massive fight” which got Alalshikh’s interest more after Saturday’s fight.

“We’ve got plans at 147 but that’s (Crawford vs Ennis at 154 lbs) a massive fight, one of the biggest in boxing,” the promoter said.

ALALSHIKH APPROACHED ENNIS, HEARN TO DISCUSS POSSIBLE CRAWFORD FIGHT

Moreover, Alalshikh himself approached Ennis and Hearn after the bout to laud them for their recent fight before proposing.

“I’d love to see Ennis in fight with Crawford at weight 154 soon,” Alalshikh said on X (formerly Twitter).

However, Crawford (40-0, 31 KOs) must beat WBA junior middleweight champion Israil Madrimov at the BMO Stadium in Philadelphia on August 3 first.

“He (Alalshikh) watched a pound-for-pound great (Ennis). He loves great fighters,” Hearn said.

“I think he would be very interested in making the Crawford fight (with Ennis),” he added.

However, Crawford might avoid Ennis even with a win over Madrimov and choose to fight Canelo Alvarez at 168 lbs instead.

ENNIS TELLS ALALSHIKH READINESS TO FIGHT CRAWFORD

Furthermore, Hearn confirmed that Ennis told Alalshikh of his readiness to fight Crawford.

“Boots spoke to Turi and said ‘Send me the contract,'” the promoter said.

“That’s a fight they want to make if he (Crawford) gets past Israil Madrimov. We’ll be open to discussing it,” he added.

Moreover, Ennis called out Crawford moments after beating Avanesyan.

“Let’s make it happen. I want the big fights,” Ennis told DAZN.

“Terence Crawford or anyone else at that weight, let’s get it,” he added.
