CANELO TO YIELD IBF TITLE, MIGHT SEEK OTHER FIGHTS
Alvarez (61-2, 39 KOs) is ready to vacate the IBF title that goes with his undisputed middleweight champion tag.
The Mexican world champion will still keep his titles with the WBA, WBC, and WBO.
Alvarez would rather relinquish his IBF belt than take on the June 6 purse bid on a fight against Scull (22-0, 9 KOs).
Sources told Boxingscene and other multiple outlets cited the lack of drawing power of Scull, a Mexican boxer who remains unknown in major markets.
Canelo became the undisputed middleweight champion after stopping then-IBF king Caleb Plant in the 11th round on November 6, 2021.

Alvarez is coming off a unanimous decision victory over countryman Jaime Munguia for his fourth undisputed title defense on May 4.
Another option includes a matchup against David Benavidez in Saudi Arabia.
A longshot option would be for Alvarez to face former undisputed welterweight king Terence Crawford.
SCULL MAY FACE RUSSIA’S SHISHKIN IN GERMANY AFTER ALVAREZ DECISION
The 31-year-old Scull may face No.2 challenger Vladimir Sishkin (16-0, 10 KOs) of Russia for a title fight in Germany.
Scull’s promoter, Agon Sports, is looking “to bring the fight to Germany,” boxing officials told sources.
Shishkin’s promoter, Dmitriy Salita, wants the fight against Scull to be streamed by DAZN.
The Scull-Shishkin bout can be added to the Alvarez-Berlanga fight should it push through on September 14, Salita said.
“I would expect the fight (Scull-Shishkin) to take place in August or September, after the Olympics,” an official who spoke on condition of anonymity said.
